I had this problem once before and I managed to temp fix it. My headlight switch is not getting power. I ran a direct wire from the Bat to the positive wire on the switch and it works with out any problems. My question is:


on a 91 firebird 3.1

Is their an in line fuse or relay that may be causing me not to have power with out the added direct wire i put in. I have replaced the dimmer unit, "guide" box that controls the headlights. I have replace 2 inline fuses in the engine bay but can not locate anymore.

Relays, I replace 2 near the heater fan and the one that controls the fuel relay. I have not replace the AC relay or the other one next to it. these replacements have been within the last 4 months

Im wanting to fix this and get rid of the temp wire I installed. I have looked at several wiring diagrams and can not locate any reason as to why Im not getting power.

Any thoughts?

Can you post the wiring diagrams you have? I don't have anything on a '91.

wiring diagrams come out of a chiltons book. I need to scan it in the computer first. let me see if my scanner is working.

are you sure that a wire isn't hanging off of the starter?

Thats where the switch gets its power from.... and you should also check the fuseable links while you are at it. One might have burned up
