If you figure out how to build your own please make a post showing the procedure and parts needed as I may like to try that also.

I'm not a big fan of LED tail lights on old cars. I think it looks weird. Granted they may be brighter, but my question is why bother with the cost (or work if you're doin' it yerself) when regular lights work just fine?

I really need to learn how to do LEDs. I've already got sequential brake lights & turn signals.

I do like the idea of the sequential taillights, just not sure I want them that bright.
However, I do want to see photos of how it goes together and works.
I may want them for my modded '81 Turbo Trans Am.

VIDEO! All right gang,

http://videos.street...-LED_208829.htm

Install went well, just a few hours. Instructions supplied were good but a schematic would have helped. The instructions mentioned a black zip tie around a certain wire lead and there was no black zip tie on a lead so a little trial and error. Thought I might have to trim a board to fit but come to find out the board was miss labeled. The look and function though is well worth the money. easily 10 times brighter than stock bulbs. If anyone from restoreamusclecar reads this, The only way I could get the sequentials to work properly, is if I leave the light bulbs in the original bulb harness. That means I have the LED tail lights on the outside, and the bulb harness funtioning on the inside of the trunk....did I miss something? or is that the way it works? I realize in order for the capacitors to discharge, there must be a pulse felt on the line.

some shots of the install:

That looks great Randy. Only thing I don't like is how they look round. Would be nicer if they lit up the tails more evenly. The 79-81 look more consistent. But if you look at restore a muscle cars video they look more consistent on the 78 also. Kinda puzzling.

Well, tried again tonight to get a better angle and hopefully the tail lights wouldn't look so "round". Well so much for that. I hope improvements are made to these so they span across the back of the car more solidly.

http://videos.street...1977_635648.htm

maybe ignore the lights and just enjoy the idle........ :B):
